Short Summary[]

Tokuchi convinces Manager Imawano to forfeit the game.

Long Summary[]

With Tokuchi’s outs and runs during this game, he owes Saikawa 13.76 billion yen. Saikawa watches Tokuchi walk up to Brooklyn on the TV and wonders what he’s doing.

Tokuchi says to Manager Imawano that as soon as he touches Brooklyn with the ball, the game’s over. He holds the ball out towards Brooklyn, who falls over trying to get away from it. Tokuchi laughs and tells him not to be scared. They’re not finished yet and the Manager needs to take responsibility for his mistakes, since he was the one who made his team lose. He calls his managing shallow and careless, and accuses him of treating the pitchers like ‘trash’, their ERAs now ruined. Manager Imawano says he feels sorry for what he’s done. Tokuchi scoffs and asks the pitchers if that’s enough for them. He says he’ll teach the Manager how to apologise correctly, and tells him to take responsibility means to suffer; you must ‘feel more pain than whoever you harmed.’ The Manager asks him how he’s supposed to take responsibility and Tokuchi says the only way is to forfeit the game.

Takami says that’s absurd, but Tokuchi points out a loss is a loss anyway. If he finished the game by touching Brooklyn, the Mariners lose and the pitchers ERAs will be ruined. If the Manager forfeits instead, he’ll be punished himself but the pitchers’ earned runs will disappear. This will also mean the batters hits will be voided.

In Saikawa’s office, the Secretary suddenly realises how they’ve been fooled. If all personal records are cleared, that goes for Tokuchi as well. Saikawa says it shouldn’t matter for the One Outs deal, but the Secretary says a forfeited game automatically ends with a score of 9-0, and Tokuchi will be recorded as having officially earned 27 outs that game. Saikawa jumps up and shouts at the TV for the Mariners’ Manager not to forfeit.

Tokuchi gives the Manager three seconds to decide and starts counting down. Imawano says he forfeits and the commentators announce the end of the game. Imawano admits to Kira that today’s loss is his fault. He vows to make Tokuchi pay for this ‘humiliation’ by winning next time.

Saikawa goes ballistic in his office while the Secretary tries to calm him down. With the 20x rate he set up, Tokuchi has now earned 2.135 billion yen.
